Maysa Eissa

Maysa Eissa joined Thomas Jefferson School of Law after five years of practice in both the private and public interest sector. Upon graduation from law school, Maysa joined the Los Angeles office of McDermott Will and Emery LLP, focusing her practice on corporate and intellectual property law. While at McDermott, she served on the firm’s pro bono committee and represented asylum applicants in partnership with the U.S. Committee for Refugee and Immigrants as well as nonprofit organizations aimed to improve the Los Angeles Unified School District. Immediately prior to joining Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Maysa worked as a staff attorney with ChangeLab Solutions, formerly known as Public Health Law & Policy. While in law school, Maysa served as editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law, was a member of the International Human Rights Clinic, and externed under Honorable Judge Lourdes G. Baird with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Maysa also currently serves on the Equal Justice Works’ National Advisory Committee, aimed to encourage and to raise funding for the next generation of public interest attorneys.
