At Harvard, Professor Rosenberg won the West Publishing Company Hornbook Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement. He began his career in 1976 as a civil rights, consumer protection and labor lawyer in Chicago and spent two years at AT&T in New York. After 12 years at the San Francisco law firm of Bancroft, Avery & McAlister, during which he served as chair of its Litigation Group, in 1997 Professor Rosenberg became General Counsel of California Pacific Bank and formed his own firm in San Francisco focused on commercial transactions, bank regulation, commercial litigation and the technology industry. He taught banking law and commercial transactions as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law for two years before coming to Thomas Jefferson in 2002.
