After law school, Professor Slattery parlayed years of music business experience into a thriving art and entertainment law practice. There, his focus on copyright, trademark, publicity rights, contract, and business law came to the fore in both transactional and litigated matters. Throughout his time as an attorney, Professor Slattery also taught substantive courses in law and business to artists, musicians, authors, and filmmakers, including engagements with California Lawyers for the Arts and the University of Southern California. As a Visiting Professor with Thomas Jefferson's Legal Writing Program, Professor Slattery looks forward to blending that legal background with his formal study of rhetorical theory and practice.
