Government Sites:

These are links to selected Department of Education and other educational related government sites.

Department of Education

This site is a student gateway to many services and sources of information provided by the U.S. Government. A Federal PIN is required to electronically sign your FAFSA.

NSLDS Student Access

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's central database for student aid. It receives data from 36 guaranty agencies, the Direct Loan program, and more than 2,500 schools.

FAFSA Instructions

This site contains detailed instruction for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.

FAFSA On The Web

The Department of Education now has a Web based on-line FAFSA on the Web program. On this site you may electronically submit and sign your FAFSA application.

Funding Your Education

Includes instructions for applying for financial aid, eligibility criteria, useful DOE contact information, loans for students, answers to questions about loans, and information about campus based aid.

Miscellaneous Sites:

The following are links to various commercial and miscellaneous financial aid sites. Included are non-profit financial aid organizations and various banking institutions that make loans to students.

TJSL Electronic Lender List

This site lists the preferred lenders at TJSL for the Stafford, GRAD PLUS and Private loans. Application procedures and lender links are also included.

EdFund

Edfund is the loan guarantee agency for federal loans at TJSL. This website is used to complete the Stafford master promissory note (MPN) through the “borrower login” link. The site also is used for completing entrance and exit loan counseling. This is done through the “EdTest Loan Counseling” link.


FinAid.org

This student oriented page is extremely comprehensive, and contains a large number of well organized links to various financial aid organizations.

Outside Scholarship Search Engine

The website is one of the most complete sources of local scholarships, national scholarships and college-specific scholarships.

On-line Calculators:

These links are to various on-line calculators. They provide a variety of forms that may be filled in to provide estimates for federal loans, loan repayment and other aspects of financial aid.

Financial Aid Calculators

The College Board offers a variety of on-line financial aid calculators, including total repayment of loans and rough estimates of financial aid eligibility as well as information concerning saving for college and finding the right college.

FinAid Financial Aid Calculators

The Smart Student Guide to Financial Aid - offers a listing of a wide variety of financial aid information ranging from searching for scholarship to predicting financial aid eligibility. The site has a number of on line calculators for determining college costs, savings, need analysis and loans.
