Ike emejuruIke Emejuru seemed to be everywhere at once at the Hillary Clinton campaign rally at San Diego State University’s Cox Arena on Friday February 1st.

He was the one with the cell phone glued to his ear as he and other Clinton campaign workers orchestrated the huge event.

Emejuru, who’s a 2L at Thomas Jefferson, is also a paid advance person for the Clinton campaign – “a great opportunity to see how a political organization like this works,” he says.   He made sure that his four classmates who attended the Clinton rally, David Gamble, Sanjay Paul and Michael Fleming, along with a friend Michael Licari, had front row seats.

Emejuru has been with the Clinton campaign since November of last year and he says he got involved through a friend of his, a Harvard law school graduate who worked as an advance person on the Bill Clinton campaign in 1996. Hillary Clinton

The political bug is nothing new to Emejuru. He worked as an intern for Congressman Robert C. Scott back in Virginia, while a student at Virginia Commonwealth University. And he sees the campaign experiences he’s having now, along with his legal education, as a springboard to a political career himself – as a political strategist – or even a candidate.

He plans on staying with the campaign and continuing his balancing act with law school – all part of the political education of Ike Emejuru.

“This is one of the most historic elections the country will ever see,” Emejuru says. “If I didn’t get involved, I would really regret it.”
