On April 18, as the sun was setting over the beautiful SanLR Banquet Sunset Diego harbor, the Thomas Jefferson Law Review Association celebrated the successes of the past academic year.

It was an unforgettable event as Presiding Justice Judith McConnell, of the California Court of Appeal, 4th Appellate District, joined Law Review students, distinguished faculty, and honored guests in recognizing the hard work and dedication of those involved with the Law Review. Presiding Justice McConnell spoke to the attendees about the importance of clear, succinct writing and making legal writings comprehensible to the average person.

Dean Rudy Hasl and Professor Bryan Wildenthal commended the outgoing Managerial Board for their extraordinary management of the Law Review and expressed hopes that the new traditions established by the Board would be carried on by future boards.

The unique event also included special recognition of all Law Review Staff Associates, Members, and numerous faculty members. In particular, the Law Review recognized Jane Larrington, TJSL reference librarian, and Professor William Slomanson for their unwavering support and dedication to the Law Review.

While Law Review Members, Susie Lorden, Tyler Kerns, and Nick Wajda were recognized as the 2007-2008 Outstanding Editors of the Year. With the release of the Fall 2007 issue-an edition bursting with more legal scholarship than previous issues-and the forthcoming Spring 2008 issue, celebrating cutting-edge scholarship in the area of Therapeutic Jurisprudence, the Thomas Jefferson Law Review has much to be proud of and celebrate.
