Professor Marjorie Cohn Lectures at Northern Iowa University

Professor Marjorie Cohn was a special guest lecturer at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa on March 1.

Her lecture, “Torture and the Possibility of Community,” was part of a year-long series called “Reaching for Higher Ground” sponsored by the Center for Multicultural Education at the UNI.

Other speakers who were there during Professor Cohn’s visit included noted historian Andrew Bacevich and Reza Aslan, an expert on the Middle East.

Professor Cohn reports that her presentation was very well-received by the students and others in the UNI community, who asked penetrating questions during the discussion following the talk.
