Professor Madeline Kass moderated a panel presentation at the ABA’s 20th Fall Section Meeting on Environmental, Energy, and Resources Law in Austin, Texas on October 11.

The panel, entitled “Wind, Water, Weather & the Endangered Species Act,” brought together a cross-section of speakers presenting on topics including wildlife laws & wind development, the impacts of solar energy development on species, and climate change implications for endangered species regulation

“The conference room was filled with environmental and energy attorneys representing a wide spectrum of the country,” said Professor Kass. “The panel was a diverse group of experts to address the challenges of renewable energy development and species protection efforts.  The presenters raised critical energy and environmental issues, including the adverse impacts of wind and solar energy on endangered species, the hurdles to renewable resources development in light of existing wildlife laws, and the implications of climate change on future species regulation and conservation efforts.”
