TJSL Contributes to the 48th Annual Local Author Exhibit Celebration

The Mayor and City Council of the City of San Diego, the Board of Library Commissioners, and the San Diego Public Library are hosting a reception, celebrating the 48th Annual Local Author Exhibit, on Friday, January 31, 2014, at the San Diego Central Library’s Joan & Irwin Jacobs Common.

It will honor local authors who published books during 2013. While this reception is by invitation only, it is the kickoff event for a month-long display of locally-authored books. This display includes books by two Thomas Jefferson law professors, Bill Slomanson and Julie Greenberg.

Two books published by Professor Slomanson during 2013 will be featured:  (1) his practitioner’s treatise entitled “California Practice: Civil Pretrial,” with coauthors David Levine (Hastings) and the Honorable Michol O’Connor (retired), published by Jones McClure; and (2) his first fully electronic book entitled “Federal Civil Procedure e-Book.”

The display will also include Professor Greenberg’s book, “Intersexuality and the Law: Why Sex Matters,” winner of the 2013 Bullough book award for the most distinguished book written for the professional sexological community.

As Professor Slomanson comments: “This is an extraordinary event, given the evolving connections between TJSL’s world class building and San Diego’s new world class County Library. We could not ask for a better local educational partner. Both institutions can now share the academic limelight in their respective spheres of influence. It is thus quite fitting that the TJSL faculty can savor this fresh connection with our new next door neighbor.”
