Congratulations to Thomas Jefferson’s La Raza Scholarship Winners

Six Thomas Jefferson School of Law May 2015 graduates and one current student recently received a 2015 San Diego La Raza Lawyers Bar Stipend Scholarship.

The recipients are: Fernanda Oviedo ‘15, Priscilla Ascar ’15, Pedro Garcia ’15, Lizbeth Iniguez 3L, Justin Hall ’15, Jose J. Rodriguez ’15, and Leonel Fuentes V. ’15.

Rodriguez, Askar and Fuentes are former board members of Thomas Jefferson’s La Raza Law Student Association and say they are thankful to have been awarded this prestigious scholarship. “I am grateful to be part of a Latino community that recognizes the hard work of students and appreciate our involvement to help other students succeed,” Rodriguez commented.

San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association awarded the scholarships to all recipients on May 20, 2015 at Fred’s Café in Old Town. SDLRLA presented Bar Stipends in the amount of $500, $1,000 and $2,000 which is aimed to provide financial support to graduates taking the July 2015 or February 2016 bar examination.

Thank you SDLRLA for continuing to push the Latino education pipeline forward.”
