Alums, Faculty Elected as Bar Association Board Members

Thomas Jefferson School of Law alums Srinivas Hanumadass ‘03 and Anna Romanskaya ’07 will serve as Board members of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) for 2016. Adjunct faculty member Lilys D. McCoy will continue her service on the Board in 2016 as Secretary.

Hanumadass is a trial lawyer at Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield. He is the current President of the South Asian Bar Association, the Chairperson for Lawyers Club’s Scholarship Committee and an active member of the SDCBA’s Ethnic Relations and Diversity Committee. A native of Chicago, Srinivas graduated from Thomas Jefferson Law in 2003 and has practiced in San Diego during his entire legal career. Hanumadass is committed to opening doors for diverse attorneys and law students.

Romanskaya is a Partner with Stark & D’Ambrosio, LLP, where she manages the firm’s family law practice. Anna is a former Lawyers Club board member, where she helped develop and co-chaired the inaugural Red, White and Brew event. Anna also co-chaired the 2014 Annual Dinner, with keynote speaker Hon. Sandra Day O’Connor. On the Lawyers Club Board, she served as both Secretary and Vice President of Public Relations. Anna’s distinguishing factor is her leadership in the American Bar Association, where she is the incoming Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division and sits on the Center for Human Rights Advisory Council. Anna aspires to bring her diverse leadership experience and background to the SDCBA board. She believes that SDCBA board members must be able to lead and advocate for and on behalf of all members of the San Diego community.

McCoy has practiced almost exclusively in the area of civil litigation since 1992 and has tried both jury trials and bench trials, as well as representing clients in judicial arbitrations, contractual arbitrations, and mediation hearings. From 1999 until 2012, McCoy dedicated her practice to representing plaintiffs in consumer protection cases, including automobile fraud, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act cases, and Fair Credit Reporting Act cases. She is the Director of the Center for Solo Practitioners and Solo Practice Concentration at Thomas Jefferson Law.

The 2016 SDCBA Board of Directors will take part in an installation ceremony on December 4 at Stepping Up to the Bar, the Association’s annual holiday reception. This year’s event will be held at 401 West A. Street in the lobby beginning at 5:30 p.m. and is open exclusively to SDCBA members.

Directors are elected at large by the membership for three‐year terms, with one director elected from East County, one from South Bay and one from North County.
