Thomas Jefferson Students Named in
Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges

Six TJSL Law Students Among 2006-2007 Honorees

SAN DIEGO- Six Thomas Jefferson School of Law students have been nominated and will appear in the 2006-2007 Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges.

Each year, Who’s Who Among Students has furthered the aims of higher education by rewarding and recognizing academic excellence on a national level.

Who’s Who asked Thomas Jefferson to nominate students whose academic standing, participation in extracurricular activities and community service combine to identify a decidedly above average candidate.

In addition, each nominee had to survive the subjective test of being nominated by individual students,
student organizations, faculty and administration.

The following Thomas Jefferson students were nominated and selected for the 2006– 2007 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges:

Christie Edwards

Yuliya Ivanov

Erik Laakkonen

Stephen Matcha

Donald Ostertag

Mary Hirschauer Stiles

“Thomas Jefferson School of Law is extremely proud of the accomplishments of the nominees and we congratulate them on their contributions to the Thomas Jefferson community,” said Kim Grennan, Thomas Jefferson’s Registrar.

According to its official website, the Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges is a tradition created in 1934 by University of Alabama pre-law student Pettus Randall, to select and recognize outstanding students for their academic accomplishments and scholastic contributions.
