California Legislative History with Guest Speaker Tom Stallard, March 23

Members of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law community, including students and alumni, are invited to attend a presentation on California Legislative History by Tom Stallard, current President of the California State Archives Foundation. His presentation will be offered twice on Thursday, March 23, 2006, during the Advanced Legal Research classes at 1 p.m. and at 6 p.m. in Room 300 of the Law Library Building.

After receiving his law degree from the University of California, Davis, Stallard became an intern in the California State Assembly where he later became a member of the Minority Consultant Staff. He is Secretary of the California State Library Foundation and has served on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors since 1994. He lobbies for the preservation of California’s historical heritage, including the impact of maintaining public county law libraries. Stallard also co-founded a company called Legislative Intent Service in 1974, signifying his expertise on legislative intent.
