October 18, 2005 SAN DIEGO — Mayoral Candidate Jerry Sanders will make a campaign stop tomorrow at Thomas Jefferson School of Law to talk to students before the upcoming elections in November. Former Police Chief Jerry Sanders will speak on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. He will take questions from the audience. This event is open to the public and will be held at Thomas Jefferson’s Courtyard Building in Room 200. Two TJSL student organizations, the Jefferson Law Republicans and the campus chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, are sponsoring this mayoral candidate event. Former Police Chief Jerry Sanders served the San Diego Police Department for 26 years, the last six as Chief of Police. Since then, he has worked with United Way as its president and CEO and on the board for the Red Cross of San Diego-Imperial Counties. New revelations about the city’s lobbying rules and policy have created a platform for both Sanders and his opponent, Donna Frye, on how to rectify the issue in the aftermath of scandal and extortion at City Hall. “We’re excited to have this candidate on our campus and to hear his views as we get closer to voting day,” said TJSL Jefferson Law Republicans Chapter President Christopher Winslow. Those who plan to attend must be seated prior to the scheduled starting time as doors will close promptly at that time with no further admittance. For more information about the “Meet the Mayoral Candidate” events, please contact Winslow at (858) 717-2131. # # #
