TJSL Student Elected ABA Student Division Governor
for 9th Circuit

First-year student Thomas 'T J' Legg was recently elected as the American Bar Association- Law Student Division (ABA-LSD) 9th circuit governor. During his undergraduate studies, TJ was student body president at the University of Hartford, where he received degrees in both political science and psychology. TJ is confident that his past extra-circular activities have prepared him well for the challenges ahead.

As circuit governor, he plans to execute many successful new programs throughout all law schools in southern California and Hawaii. With a strong executive board, the 9th circuit will be very active in its commitment to benefit the community.

"I hope to work closely with many students to identify their pertinent concerns and get more of our students involved within the executive board, said TJ. "I look forward to strengthening the identity of our circuit and will act as an avid student advocate on a national level with large scale concerns such as loan repayment options and improving the professions ethical standards."

In addition to his studies and his involvement with the SBA, TJ is also an intern in the Appellate Department of San Diego County Public Defender's Office. Since November, he has been volunteering with San Diego Teen Court, helping high school students try cases and mentoring those offenders who are found guilty. During the San Diego County fires, TJ actively volunteered for the Red Cross taking a leadership role in organizing and managing hundreds of volunteers.
