Thomas Jefferson Graduate Bonnie Dumanis Takes Oath for Second Term as San Diego County District Attorney
Bonnie Dumanis, who received her juris doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 1976, has been sworn-in for her second term as San Diego’s elected District Attorney.
Her father Abraham was specially deputized as a county clerk for one day so he could administer the oath of office to his daughter.
Prior to her election as District Attorney in 2002, Ms. Dumanis was a Municipal Court Judge, a Superior Court Judge and an Assistant District Attorney.
In 2006, Ms. Dumanis was elected to the State Bar’s Board of Governors and will serve a three-year term on the board for District Nine, which encompasses San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Ms. Dumanis remains an active alumna of Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
