The Public Interest Law Foundation (P.I.L.F.) had its annual career week from November 5-9, with a series of on-campus events.

The Family Law Society, Criminal Law Society, Office of Career Services, Environmental Law Society and La Raza Student Organization were co-sponsors of the week’s activities.

On Monday there were two different seminars held by Career Services called “Toolkit for a Career in Public Interest Law.”

A panel of lawyers from public agencies appeared on Tuesday, including lawyers from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District Attorney, Federal Defender’s, the City Attorney and the Public Defender’s Office.

PILF2Wednesday’s panel featured representatives from several public interest law agencies, including the San Diego County Bar Association, Legal Aid, San Diego Coast Keeper, Protection and Advocacy and the Employees Rights Center.

There was a wine and cheese mixer on Thursday which precededPILF3 a panel on family law, featuring a retired family law judge, a social worker, several attorneys and a representative from Voices for Children.
