PILF’s Annual Silent Auction A Huge Success
The Thomas Jefferson School of Law’s Public Interest Law Foundation’s (PILF) Annual Silent Auction took place in the school’s Courtyard Building on Friday, April 7. The evening promised a full slate of events, including a silent auction and live entertainment by solo vocalist Kevin Hughes performing hit songs from the 60’s to the 90’s, followed by a live auction and more live entertainment. Wine, cheese and catered appetizers were served. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni of Thomas Jefferson were invited to attend as well as members of the legal community and other friends of the law school.

Attendees browse auction items in the Courtyard.
PILF, a TJSL student organization, traditionally provides grant awards to students who pursue unpaid summer employment in the public interest sector, most typically in underserved communities. The purpose of the annual auction was to financially help law students pursuing public interest work this summer. PILF is the main source of their funding and 100 percent of the auction’s proceeds will go directly to providing financial support to cover student expenses during the summer.

Some of the auction items that were up for grab included a week-long vacation timeshare of choice; a ski cabin trip in Ruidoso, New Mexico; two roundtrip airline tickets; a scenic flight tour over the ocean; a Padres gift bag including an autographed baseball; jewelry; gift certificates to restaurants; lunches with professors; a TJSL parking pass; and much more!
A great time was had by all.
