Carlos M. Martinez is a 2009 graduate of Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA. He was admitted to the California Bar in December 2012. He also earned a Master's Degree in Asian Studies from San Diego State University and a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from the University of San Diego. Carlos is a baseball advisor/player representative to professional baseball players for Empire Athletes and an associate attorney with Reza Athari & Associates.
Carlos was employed with the San Diego Padres Baseball club from 1995 to 2005 in the International Marketing department and Baseball Operations Department. He was tasked with developing a cultural assimilation program for all international players, mostly Latino players in the minor league. He also provided statistical analysis support to the minor league department. In 2006 & 2009 Carlos was tabbed by Major League Baseball to work as the Traveling Secretary for Team Mexico during the World Baseball Classic tournament. Also in 2006, Carlos became a certified professional scout by Major League Baseball. Mr. Martinez served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992 and completed a tour during the Persian Gulf War (Operation Desert Shield/Storm) with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force.
He is a member of the California State Bar and United States Southern District Court. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association; Consumer of San Diego Attorney Association, San Diego County Bar Association; Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles; Hispanic Bar Association and Sports Lawyers Association. Carlos also holds a California Real Estate License. He is fluent in Spanish and resides in Chula Vista, CA with his wife and two daughters.
