Tracee Lorens was born in Gunnison, Colorado in 1958. She attended Kent-Denver Country Day School in Denver, Colorado, followed by San Diego State University and Thomas Jefferson, School of Law, graduating and being admitted to the California Bar in 1990.
She was the founding partner of Lorens & Associates, APLC and focused her practice on consumer class actions. Memorable cases include Albrecht v. Rite Aid, Hohnbaum v. Brinker, and Laguna v. Coverall, among many others, both multi-party and individual.
She was President of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego in 2003 and presented with a Senate Resolution for her involvement in the community, outstanding record of personal and civic leadership, spirit, integrity, and passion for excellence, by Senator Joe Dunn in 2004. She has received several Outstanding Lawyer Awards from CASD, a CLAY Award in 2013, and Super Lawyer Awards on several occasions. She prides herself on representing those who could not otherwise afford representation and ensuring access to the legal system for low wage workers and consumers.
