Take this opportunity to interview Veterans and Law Students who are helping Vets get back on their feet

When: Veteran’s Day - Monday November 12

Interview and  B-roll opportunities: 9:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m.

Where: Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD)
             4141 Pacific Highway
             San Diego

What: See the Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic where Thomas Jefferson School of Law students provide free legal services to clients of the Veterans Village of San Diego

Thomas Jefferson students and VVSD clients will be available for interviews as well as clinic supervisors from both Thomas Jefferson and VVSD.

At 10 a.m. the clinic’s director, Professor Steve Berenson, will present an orientation class for the veterans to help them learn about the clinic’s services.

For the first time, residents and alumni of Veterans Village have access to civil legal assistance on a regular basis. Thomas Jefferson’s students provide services to veterans struggling to regain full participation in society.

The VLAC began operation in the fall of 2006 and during its first year the clinic successfully helped veterans deal with such issues as child support and visitation, government benefits and more.
