Ray Warner graduated from Thomas Jefferson magna cum laude in 1999. Following clerkships in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, he was a litigation attorney for the Los Angeles office of a New York-based law firm for several years. His practice covered employment, entertainment, intellectual property, business and commercial interests and other areas. He was also active in pro bono representation, particularly of military veterans. He then worked for the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California and the Eastern District of Texas, before returning to California to become a Lead Appellate Court Attorney specializing in Writs for the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Two, in Riverside. He also serves as a member of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, where he is a Co-Chair of the Admissions Committee.
A native of New Orleans, Professor Warner came to California following his graduation from Tulane University’s Naval ROTC program as a newly commissioned officer, and served in a variety of ships, staffs, and training commands. He attended Thomas Jefferson during his final tour and graduated concurrently with his retirement at the rank of Commander. He lives in Oceanside.
