A group of TJSL professors are offering the opportunity to run off your end-of-semester energy and raise money for the Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) at the same time.

The “Last Day of Class Run & Walk” will be held on Wednesday, May 4, from 11:40 a.m. until 12:50 p.m.

“It’s not a race, but a fun run and walk,” said Professor Ben Templin, who organized the event. “We hope to make it an annual event on the last day of class.”

There are three distances – 1 mile, 3 miles and 5 miles. Each course is an out-and-back route that goes from the school, around PETCO Park and over the footbridge to the Embarcadero. You can turn back anytime.

The cost to participate is $10 and, as mentioned, the proceeds benefit PILF.

“PILF is a worthy cause, and a group of professors who enjoy jogging thought this would be a fun way to raise some money, get some exercise and interact with students outside of the classroom,” said Professor Templin.  “Thirteen professors are participating and we expect at least as many staff members.  Professors Greenberg and Markey will be leading the walkers.”

Participating Professors include:

Eniola Akindemowo                     Maureen Markey
Steve Berenson                           Steve Semeraro
Leah Christensen                        Ben Templin
Marjorie Cohn                              Ken Vandevelde
Julie Greenberg                           Ellen Waldman
Marybeth Herald                          Kaimi Wenger
                        Julie Cromer Young
