Professor Madwatkins has taught at Thomas Jefferson School of Law since 2020. Her teaching emphasizes practical skill-building and ethical awareness, helping students connect doctrinal principles to real-world practice.

Before joining TJSL’s faculty, Professor Madwatkins practiced litigation in both New York and California, representing clients in foreclosure and compliance matters before transitioning into corporate compliance, where she focused on developing auditing frameworks, compliance programs, and attorney oversight policies. She is licensed to practice law in both California and New York.

In 2025, Professor Madwatkins was appointed to the California State Bar’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC), where she contributes to advancing ethical standards and guidance for the legal profession.
