Grad Fair for May 2012 Honorees
March 1, 2012
When you put on a cap and gown, suddenly it all seems real.
That’s the feeling many of the May graduates got in the Student Lounge on February 29 as they donned graduation regalia for their official commencement photos at the spring Graduation Fair.
“Yes, it makes it real,” said 3L Ryan Ciriaco. “The countdown starts today.”
Ciriaco had his photo taken along with his wife, 3L Samantha Ciriaco, both in cap and gown. Ryan joked that he didn’t marry her just so he could sit next to her at graduation.
As Samantha donned her gown and mortarboard, she said suddenly it is “crazy, scary and exciting all at the same time,” thinking about the whirlwind that is ahead as commencement draws nearer.
The Grad Fair was more than just the photos. The students got to choose frames for their hard-earned diplomas, got a gift from the Alumni Association, snacks from Student Services, a chance to chat with Career Services to make sure their pre-graduation requirements have been met and also to give their fingerprints via live-scan for their lawyer’s license.
“It’s gone by so fast,” said 3L Parker Smith. “I can’t believe it’s here.”
“I can’t believe it,” said 3L Katelyn Quaresma. “It’s a little nerve-wracking, because it means this is all coming to an end and we’ll be taking the bar soon.”
3L Matt Brock said, “It feels great! And it’ll be great to get a paycheck again.”
Commencement Ceremonies will be held Sunday, May 20, at Copley Symphony Hall.
