May 29, 2015
On Thursday, May 7, 2015, Dean Thomas Guernsey, Director of Alumni Relations Stephanie Marquez, Director of Admissions Tim Spearman and Director of Career Services, Jeffrey Chinn joined Vegas alums and several prospective students at the Las Vegas Alumni Reception at a venue overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Marcus Threats ’13 and the Thomas Jefferson Alumni Association co-sponsored the event.
Because of the a great response at the Las Vegas receptions, Marcus Threats ’13 has been identified as the alumni group leader to continue on-going gatherings and events for Nevada area alumni. Threats said, “During the first Las Vegas Alumni Reception Dean Guernsey stated that Thomas Jefferson School of Law is a place that creates opportunities. Myself and all the alums that were in attendance agree that the opportunities that Thomas Jefferson has afforded us are tremendous. The Las Vegas Chapter of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association looks forward to continuing seizing these opportunities through networking and community outreach.”
Linda Lam ‘12 says she always enjoys attending the Vegas receptions, “The event was lovely and I thought Dean Guernsey was very informative about the future of the law school, and the prospective students seemed to really enjoy themselves as well. It was also very gracious of Marcus Threats ’13 to host this wonderful evening and it is always nice to catch up with Thomas Jefferson alums because in turn we help each other in our respective legal practices. And needless to say, the view of the Strip was breathtakingly amazing.”
“It is always a pleasure to see former classmates at any time, as well as the staff from Thomas Jefferson,” said Kevin Kampschror ’13.
Marcus Threats ’13 stated, “On behalf of the Thomas Jefferson Las Vegas Alumni group, I would like to thank the Dean for coming to town and sharing updates about the law school. As the Las Vegas economy continues to improve there are more and more opportunities for Thomas Jefferson Alums. The opportunity to mix and mingle with other Alums, prospective students, and school officials was priceless.”
