Thomas Jefferson School of Law Students Distinguished at EBGBA Scholarship Gala

The Earl B. Gilliam Bar Foundation held its 47^th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala on November 4, 2023 at the U.S. Grant Hotel.  Thomas Jefferson School of Law students amassed the most recognition, with seven students receiving scholarships at the event. 

The event, celebrating diversity and achievement, provided an opportunity for many community leaders to come together and honor these scholars.  Merridith M. Delinois (3L), Jasmyne Colemon (3L), Jackson Whitby (3L), Virginia Flores-Richards (3L), Isaac Joseph (3L), Alexis Kerr (3L), and Anisa Abrams (3L) received scholarships at the Gala.

The late Earl B. Gilliam was the first African‐American judge on the San Diego Superior Court bench and had the same distinction later on the on the U.S. District Court in San Diego. He was also an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in its early years.  The EBGBA “strives to honor Judge Gilliam’s legacy of community service.”
