The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Scholarship Awards Dinner brought together our Latino legal community for a beautiful evening of recognition, reflection, and celebration on Saturday night, October 9, at Loews Coronado Hotel.
Thomas Jefferson School of Law was well represented at the event, with both Dean Beth Kransberger and Professor William Slomanson in attendance, along with many students, all looking very fabulous.
“I am very grateful to have been selected as one of this year’s La Raza Scholarship recipients, along with fellow TJSL winners, Danaly Barajas and Xasha Valderrama,” said award recipient Elizabeth Knowles. “It was inspiring to hear the passion and determination that shined through each recipient’s story, and to know that the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association values each one of our journeys and encourages our success.”
“I feel so honored to be recognized by The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association,” said Xasha Valderrama. “It’s such a great organization that empowers the Latino community.”
“I am honored to be one of the La Raza Lawyers Scholarship recipients for 2010,” added Danaly Barajas. “It feels incredible to be recognized for the hurdles I have had to overcome and I look forward to the challenges that lay ahead. It was very inspiring to be
amongst incredibly successful Latino/a lawyers and I cannot wait until the day I return to the Scholarship Awards Gala as an attorney.”
Formed in 1979, the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association represents over 300 Latino lawyers in San Diego County and strives to advance the cause of equality, empowerment and justice through service and advocacy.
