Shrimp cocktail, wine, and a summer job? Yes, please! On November 5, 2010, the Family Law Society and Phi Alpha Delta co-hosted the 2nd annual “Speed Networking” event in which 13 attorneys and approximately 22 students were in attendance. Connecting with other legal professionals is a very important part of being a law student.  The networking skills you begin to develop and the relationships you establish in law school will help assist you in securing internships as well as jobs in the future.

The event setup, a similar concept to “speed dating”, created a nice, relaxed way to network and practice building rapport. Each individual was dressed in a business professional manner and represented the school exceptionally well. The attorneys expressed their admiration in the number of first year law students exhibiting a strong desire to begin networking early on in their law school Careers.  However, one complaint that was addressed was a lack in the number of second and third year students as one of the attorneys had a position available and were looking for a student from TJSL.  Overall, the event was a great success!
