TJSL Celebrates Justice 250 Aboard the USS Midway

Thomas Jefferson School of Law is proud to participate in Justice 250, a landmark community event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation and celebrating the enduring principles of the rule of law, our judicial system, and American democracy.

The public event will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2026, aboard the iconic USS Midway Museum in downtown San Diego. Hosted by the San Diego County legal community, Justice 250 will bring together judges, attorneys, law schools, legal organizations, and community partners for an evening dedicated to civic engagement, constitutional education, and access to justice.

Justice 250 will feature speeches on the flight deck by prominent California legal community leaders, including:

• Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero, California Supreme Court
• Judge M. Margaret McKeown, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
• Timothy Williams, President of the San Diego County Bar Association
  

Justice 250 provides a unique opportunity for the public to engage with leaders in the legal profession and learn more about the role that courts and the Constitution play in protecting individual rights and preserving the rule of law. The event welcomes residents and visitors of all ages, including students, educators, military families, and anyone interested in the history and future of our nation’s legal system.

As a Partner in Justice, TJSL will host an informational booth where attendees can learn more about legal education, careers in the legal profession, and the many ways lawyers make a positive impact in their communities. Representatives from TJSL’s Legal Clinics, including Professor Stephanie Germani, Esq., as well as Reza Garajedaghi, Admissions Outreach & Recruitment Manager, will be in attendance. Visitors are encouraged to stop by to learn how TJSL’s clinics provide students with hands-on legal experience serving real clients and addressing real-world legal issues. Attendees can also explore the pathways to earning a law degree through the school’s Residential JD and Online JD programs and discover how a legal education can open doors to careers dedicated to advocacy, leadership, and public service.
