This past weekend, students, faculty and alumni affiliated with the Thomas Jefferson Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic (TJVLAC) participated in San Diego’s annual Stand Down for homeless veterans.  Stand Down is a 3-day resource fair for homeless veterans that takes place on the athletic fields at San Diego High School.  Hundreds of volunteers, along with a variety of service providers, offer a broad range of services needed by the hundreds of veterans who participate in the event.  Services provided include medical, dental, legal, public benefits, mental health, and alternative therapies.  The TJVLAC provided civil legal assistance to participants in a wide range of areas including family law, bankruptcy, VA benefits, and Landlord/Tenant law.
