TJSL’s Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic Has Successful Semester

November 25, 2019

Thomas Jefferson Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic Director Nicole Heffel reports: The Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic had a successful semester. Three students, Stephanie Germani (’20), Ntemna Ngu (’20) and Panagiotis Liapis (’20), participated in the clinic under the state bar’s Certified Law Student program. This program has allowed the students to take the lead on over 33 active cases within the clinic.

Through the Veterans Clinic, the students provided pro bono legal representation to the veterans of Veterans Village of San Diego. The work that the students completed on behalf of the veterans has had a profound impact on their rehabilitation.

This semester, the students provided full legal representation to clients in the following areas: child support & modification; dissolution of marriage; expungements; bankruptcy; VA benefits and military discharge upgrades.

We are very proud of the students for the work that they have done this semester!
