Privacy Policy

Thomas Jefferson School of Law (TJSL) recognizes and respects users’ privacy.  This Privacy Notice is intended to inform users of TJSL’s general policies and practices regarding its collection, use, and disclosure of the information submitted and collected from users during the use of the www.tjsl.edu website.

Information Collection and Use Practices

Information submitted voluntarily through the TJSL website may be collected by TJSL to respond to inquiries, as well as for internal marketing and development purposes.  The website uses data entry forms to collect personally identifiable information, including user’s name and contact information and other identifiers allowing users to provide feedback, make inquiries, register for events, and other online applications and services.

TJSL may reveal personally identifiable information about users to unaffiliated third parties if: a user requests or authorizes it; if the information is needed to complete a transaction for the user; if the information is required to comply with the law, applicable regulations, court orders or subpoenas, or to protect the rights or safety of TJSL property or other users; or if the information is provided to other agents or outside vendors to perform functions on TJSL’s behalf (e.g., analyzing data, marketing, customer service, etc.).  TJSL may share information that does not personally identify its users without restriction.

Cookies and Website Analytics

TJSL uses cookies and similar technology to collect aggregate (non-personal) information about website usage to assist TJSL in remembering user preferences for future visits to the website.  This includes the use of Google Analytics, which uses persistent cookies to analyze how users use the website.  The information generated by the cookie includes the user’s IP address, and will be transmitted to and stored.  These cookies may stay on a user’s browser until they expire or are deleted.  Cookies may be declined by adjustment to the user’s browser settings, but some features of the website may not function.  Select third parties may from time to time be granted access to place cookies through the website to provide TJSL with better insights into usage trends and to improve the performance and content of the website. 

These tools are not used to collect or store user’s personal information and cannot be used to identify any particular user.  By using the website, the user consents to the processing of data in the matter and for the purposes detailed above.

GDPR Compliance

If a user is located in the European Union, they may have additional rights with respect to their personal information such as: data access and portability; data correction (including the ability to update personal information); data deletion (including the right to have TJSL delete user personal information, except information that is required to be retained); and withdrawal of consent or objection to processing personal information.  Users may also be able to file a complaint with the appropriate supervisor authority in the European Union.

Updates to Privacy Notice

TJSL reserves the right to modify this Privacy Notice at any time.  The continued use of the website will constitute a user’s acceptance of any such changes.
