Byrnes' Electronic Book

Associate Dean William H. Byrnes and Dr. Robert J. Munro, who both teach in TJSL’s online International Tax & Financial Services LL.M. program, have just co-authored an online publication Money Laundering, Asset Forfeiture and Recovery and Compliance–A Global Guide, in association with LexisNexis and Matthew Bender.

It’s available on the LexisNexis website, and according to TJSL’s LL.M. Publications Director Jason Fiske, it is already a huge success!

The Lexis excitement for this product has greatly exceed our best expectations,”  said Fiske. “The LexisNexis marketing team said that the publication had received a heavy buzz and was currently their best response for a new publication, initial forecasts projecting it to be a best seller”.

Byrnes added “While I’d like to think that Dr. Munro and my names carry weight in the marketplace, in this case the credit must go to the exceptional efforts of the LexisNexis team supporting us.”

“Our definitive, analytical compendium contains the most current, authoritative information available on anti-money laundering practices and the law of the nations around the world,” said Dean Byrnes.

“Because our information solution is leveraged across multiple endpoints such as financial institution branches, telecommuting lawyers and government officials, we chose to release it only in online media.

“Its in-depth, critical analysis covers the effective risk management strategies to address prevention and compliance, as well as asset forfeiture for recovery consultants.

“Since 2000, Dr. Robert Munro and I have been actively working on the research for this publication including national security, financial systems, and international movements of capital and goods .  Now with this latest publication, we have co-authored five major compendiums that have reached over fifteen volumes.  Together with Professor Chris Guzelian of Thomas Jefferson School of Law, we are exploring programmatic opportunities for Thomas Jefferson to be the leading law school in this multi-disciplinary field.”

As for the success of the electronic book, Dean Byrnes added, “While I’d like to think that Dr. Munro and my names carry weight in the marketplace, in this case the credit must go to the exceptional efforts of the LexisNexis team supporting us.”

According to LexisNexis:

“With the introduction of Money Laundering, Asset Forfeiture and Recovery and Compliance—A Global Guide, those involved in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing have gained an indispensable resource. Its in-depth, critical analysis covers the law and anti-money laundering practices of nations around the world. In addition, its information can be the foundation for effective strategies to address these important issues.”
