TJSL Moot Court Team Provides Great Opportunities

February 14, 2012

Moot Court Board

The Moot Court team participates in national appellate advocacy competitions involving a wide variety of subjects throughout
the year. Currently the team is preparing for the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the ABA National Appellate
Advocacy Competition, the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition and the Traynor California Appellate Moot Court Competition.“

Traveling to Chicago last semester to compete in the Chicago Bar Association Moot Court Competition was for me the most
prolific enterprise thus far in law school. Working for months on a case involving the momentous federal health care law with two
great teammates was a profoundly rewarding experience. We even got to argue in Judge Zagel’s courtroom!” said Rane Caselegno reflecting on his experience on Moot Court.

RuthAnne Bergt says that joining Moot Court was the best decision she’s made in law school thus far. “Moot Court has helped hone my writing and oral advocacy skills, increased my knowledge of the law and has been a wonderful networking opportunity!” The annual tryout for new membership is going to be held this March in the form of an Intra-School Competition.

Informational meetings will be held February 20th at 11:30 and 6:00pm. If you are interested in tryouts and are unable to attend one of the informational meetings, please email mootcourt@tjsl.edu for more information.
