TJSL Adjunct Appears at Waseda University in Japan
March 25, 2013
Thomas Jefferson School of Law Adjunct Professor Dr. George Salis recently gave a presentation at Waseda University in Japan: “International Transfer Pricing in Asia.” Dr. Salis teaches in TJSL’s innovative online LL.M. program, International Taxation & Financial Services.
International Transfer Pricing has become one of the foremost important themes in corporate taxation, according to Dr. Salis. Multinational firms can shift income from high-tax countries to low-tax countries either by financing affiliates or controlling the prices that are used for intra-firm in goods and services.
Dr. Salis delivered a talk that particularly focused on topics within transfer pricing and economic analysis. His most recent research into quantitative business analysis and statistical methods integrating tax differentials in Transfer Pricing policy and comparability analysis will also be introduced. The presentation was an excellent opportunity for both academics and practitioners in the field of international corporate taxation to hear from an expert.
