Congratulations to Thomas Jefferson School of Law alumnus James “Bo” McAllister, who won his race for Clerk of the Circuit Court in Wicomico County, Maryland. The clerk of the court, elected locally, is a state position presiding over the processing and maintenance of civil, criminal and juvenile legal actions. As clerk, Bo will administer oaths of office, issue business and marriage licenses, and perform civil marriage ceremonies.
Bo has had a varied and exciting career since he graduated from Thomas Jefferson. After practicing in California for several years, he moved to Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, to work as an assistant attorney general. In 2014, he moved to Salisbury, Maryland, where he was raised, and began working in the State’s Attorney’s Office as an assistant state’s attorney.
Bo is married to Thomas Jefferson alumna Reena Patel (JD ’08, LLM ’09). Reena has practiced law in California, in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, where she served as an assistant attorney general, and eventually was promoted to Chief of the Civil Division, and in Maryland. They have two children.
