Professor Hutchinson served as assistant counsel for a bank holding company. As assistant counsel, Professor Hutchinson reviewed, analyzed, and directed the bank and its subsidiaries through federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. After serving as in-house counsel, Professor Hutchinson worked with full-service law firms representing other regional banks. Professor Hutchinson continues to work within the financial services sector.
For over twenty years, Professor Hutchinson has served high-net-worth individuals and families as a trust & estates lawyer, senior financial planner, and senior wealth strategist by developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive plans that cover many areas of law, including tax law, estate and trust planning & administration, business law, and family wealth strategies.
Professor Hutchinson has held adjunct faculty positions with multiple universities and has presented several seminars to attorneys, CPAs and financial advisers. Professor Hutchinson is admitted to practice law in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Texas and New York.
Professor Hutchinson received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) in Finance from Auburn University in 1990, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Auburn University in 1991, a Master of Accounting (M.Acc.) from the University of South Alabama in 1993, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in Estate Planning and Business Planning from Regent University School of Law in 1996, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from The University of Alabama School of Law in 2005.
